Sulawesi Arabica 'Toraja' WP

Here we have a low acid, deep, intense and complex Sulawesi, that stands alone as a single origin offering. Characters of tropical forest fruits combine with a dark sugar syrupy body. Well balanced and offering complexity in the cup, this coffee can be used for the perfect single origin espresso. Simply, one that you will never forget once you taste it.

This somewhat different in all respects Indonesian coffee stands out for its unique characteristics from South Sulawesi Tana Toraja and its indigenous people that have been producing coffee since the Dutch landed on the island.

The Toraja are an ethnic group indigenous to a mountainous region of South Sulawesi. Only a third of their population live in the regency of Tana Toraja ("Land of Toraja"). The word toraja comes from the Buginsese language term to riaja, meaning "people of the uplands". The Dutch colonial government named the people Toraja in 1909. Torajans are renowned for their elaborate funeral rites, burial sites carved into rocky cliffs, massive peaked-roof traditional houses known as tongkonan, and colorful wood carvings.
